Welcome to Flavor of the Week where we seek to keep you in the know by providing weekly highlights in several high-interest areas of the web. We usually update at least 5 days a week, here’s how the standard schedule goes:
Mondays – Flash Game of the Week: One of the most popular means of wasting time on the web. The mix of simplicity and diversity in Flash allows for a massive flow of user-created games. We’ll make sure to keep you updated on the most ingenuitive, well made and just plain fun to play.
Tuesdays – Video of the Week: Hilarious, informative or artistic, we’ll be highlighting must see videos every Tuesday.
Wednesdays – Website of the Week: Like to keep up with the newest social networking sites and web 2.0 trends? Enjoy seeing what the top web designers will churn out next? We’ll keep you posted with reviews of sites that demonstrate exceptional innovation, showcase brilliant design or take online community to the next level. Oftentimes it is also possible we will choose a blog as the site of the week. Still one of the fastest growing trends, blogs are far more than online diaries these days. From comic sribblings that will leave you in stitches to expert run SEO blogs that will help you optimize your online business, we’ll point you to the feeds worth reading.
Thursdays – Artist of the Week: The web has become far and wide the most efficient means of hosting artistic portfolios. Hundreds of new users join sites like DeviantArt everyday and many accomplished artists have invested in setting up their own online galleries. Every Thursday we’ll try to bring you some fresh talent for your viewing pleasure.
Fridays – Band/Musician of the Week: Modern technology has transformed the independent music scene and it seems like just about anyone can have a band these days. This gives alot of talented artists a well deserved chance to be heard, but it can be hard to sort through all the white noise. Check with us on Fridays to see spotlights on upcoming unknowns with a sound worth hearing.
And that’s the lineup! Oftentimes there’ll be something out there well worth highlighting that doesn’t fit in the other categories, so occasional Saturday Spotlights are likely to pop up. Sunday is my sleeping in day, so no updates there unless I get especially excited about something.
Oh and by the way, don’t forget to check back around the end of each month too for the “Flavor of the Month.” Usually a closer look at a previous highlight, the “Flavor of the Month” is something so sweet it deserves a second tasting and a more in depth review.
